My little niece is getting christened very soon and I’ve been deliberating over what gift to get her. In fact, I’m the darned photographer for the do, (which I’m pretty scared about having never done a shoot before!). Anyway, that’s beside the point.
Having bought the present now, here’s my own take on what I think make great christening gifts for baby girls. Here goes…
In the run up to my present-buying mission, I did think about getting my niece some kind of cute ickle baby grow or a Hungry Caterpillar book. As lovely as they are, I came to the conclusion that I wanted something different. I didn’t want to go for the same old, same old christening gifts for girls ideas.
I wanted to think a bit outside the box, so in the end, I opted for something with a personal touch. It didn’t even involve traipsing around the high street nor did it involve fighting my way through the crowded shopping centre. It was all done whilst sipping a much-needed glass of wine on my big, red sofa at home. Obviously there was a laptop involved.
In my humble opinion, personalised christening gift ideas for girls make the best keepsakes… by far. By personalising something, you’re giving a piece of your heart to that little someone. You can have your chosen present beautifully printed, engraved or even embroidered with that little bundle of joy’s name and in some cases, a special message.
So what’s hot in terms of personalised baby girls christening gifts? Well, there’s just about everything from name frames to engraved bracelets and plenty more in between.
I especially think bling is always in even where little babies are concerned. One of the most beautiful girls christening gifts would be a silver name bracelet. You can personalise each silver block with the letters of her name along with a special symbol such as a cross, dove, heart and more. And that, folks, is exactly what I got for my little niece. Let’s just hope she’ll like it.
To complement the bracelet, I also purchased a personalised kiddie’s book. Just for the record, I know babies can’t read, but my thinking behind buying this party gift was that it’s something she’ll be able to appreciate in the future. The book features her name on every page, throughout the story and on the front cover. Even the images display her name.
For an especially thoughtful pressie, how about customising a photo frame with the name and date of that little one’s christening? Then you could pop in a treasured pic.
If you want to get the parents something too, a bottle of champers is just the ticket (a personalised one, that is). They’ll be chuffed to bits and even more so once they’ve had a glass or two!
Fine bone china christening plates are also super popular. You can even personalise your plate with that little buttercup’s name, the christening date along with the venue, and see it elegantly hand-painted on it for that extra special touch.
I hope this article will help you with your ‘seeking girl christening gifts’ mission. The key to finding something original and memorable is to keep it “personal” and “heartfelt”, and you definitely won’t go wrong. Good luck!
